JANELLE TAN

COACH

With a strong dance background, Janelle Tan started dancing at the age of 4 and moved on to teaching when she was 14 till date. She attained several awards during her years of dance from events such as the CSTD Asia Pacific Dance Competition and CSTD Singapore Dance Competition.

Janelle was a gymnast from 2006 – 2013 and competed in various national competitions. She was also part of the Singapore National Team from 2008 – 2010 and won numerous awards both individually and for her school. Attaining her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and MOE qualifications as a coach, Janelle has coached local schools such as Marymount Convent School, CHIJ Kellock and Methodist Girls’ School.

Janelle’s enthusiasm in gymnastics and dance encourages students to explore and discover their potentials in a supportive and enriching environment. She also has a theory that Dance is a three-pronged curriculum. It introduces elegance into more than our posture but also our way of thinking; develops mental strength and elasticity through the learning and mastery of a myriad of dance maneuvers; last but not least, helps develop core body strength which would in the long run be both beneficial for health and mind.

With this in mind, Janelle is dedicated to share her passion and love for gymnastics and dance with the girls in Rhythm and Groove.
